During the Covid period of disruption and lock-down we rehearsed a Marimba fusion dance group on a permaculture farm in Kin Kin – Sunshine Coast Queensland – we then recorded an album again mostly at the farm away from the Covid problems.

I joined the Barry Charles band in Oct 2018. Barry is a very well know and respected Blues performer in the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane area. His new EP “On The Edge” is now climbing up the Australian Blues charts and we are featuring that in up coming festival performances and performed at the Woodford Festival on Dec 27 2018.

Photos and tracks through the years:

Recording in my home studio.

Album release in Austin Texas, this track is from that album.

Funktionatics in Houston Texas, this track was from a demo recording in Houston.

Night Season with Jerry Marcellino alto sax myself on drums and Navaro on keyboards. (Jerry was a producer with Motown, they are his gold and platinum records on the wall including Michael Jackson). We played live with this trio as well as the following studio work. This first track – Cherokee – was my first venture into ‘published’ engineering, drum programming and mixing. The guitar solo is by Steve Beckmeier ex – Alman Brothers Band, great player he recorded this in one take. I performed many gigs with Steve live, and they were always a blast.

The next track Jet stream was recorded at our studio in Newport Beach and has me on ‘real drums’ and I also engineered and mixed it. Through Jerry’s connections, we recorded with some fine studio players.

Jaam Bros, LA period. The following are tracks from the Jaam Bros album – this was a studio band led up by 3 producers from Motown Records, Jerry Marcellino, Hal Davis Willie Hutch. I did the original tracking (recording engineering) the drum programming and percussion. The tracks were reordered at various studios in LA and mastered at Capitol Records.

This last track Alafia Bo Bo was re-recorded from Motown archives using some of the original Motown tracks, the vocalist is Willie Hutch, they were his tracks.

Sha Na Na – LA. They have been around for a long time and were at Woodstock.

Our studio group did their recording for a year, I did the engineering and drums and drum programming on most tracks. The following are 2 tracks from that album.
